Oil futures up as gold and silver falter

Crude oil futures were up again on Wednesday as investors waited for the weekly U.S. inventory data, which was scheduled to be released later in the day and was expected to show another rise in stockpiles.
IPE Brent June deliveries were up 65 cents to $53.59 per barrel by early afternoon after an advance of $2.07 on Tuesday.
Nymex WTI May deliveries rose 39 cents to $52.69 per barrel after a $1.93 gain on Tuesday.
June deliveries were up 41 cents to $54.02 after a rise of $2.08 on Tuesday.
In other commodities, gold was down at early afternoon in London after a gain of almost $6 Tuesday. Silver was also down 2 cents after a 20 cent gain on Tuesday.
Copper was up $35 to $3,273 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange on tight supplies. Aluminium was up $30, to $1,874 a tonne.
