Investors sell-off 2-year issues for 10-year yields
by Brian Turner
Yields were up on US Treasury bonds on Monday, as the sell-off begun on Friday continued.
Investors engaged in profit-taking by selling 2-year issues and buying 10-year bonds to take advantage of rising yields on the 10-year notes.
The 10-year bond was yielding 4.096 percent, up 3.9 basis points, and 2-year bonds were up 1.7 percent to a yield of 3.716 percent.
The spread between yields on the two bonds widened to 39 basis points, but from a low of 33 basis points.
