Xbroker is appealing to more UK brokers
by Kay Murchie
Xbroker is a division of Moorhouse Group (one of the UK’s leading commercial insurance providers) and offers specialist branded products to HSBC Spectrum. Xbroker began through a strategic alliance between Moorhouse Group and HSBC that facilitates Xbroker to sell products to brokers registered with HSBC. HSBC then guarantees the broker’s accounts for any payment due to Xbroker. HSBC have recently recognised Xbroker as being one of the best service providers on the HSBC Spectrum board.
Moorhouse Group has announced that its Xbroker portal is used by more UK brokers than any of the similar portals provided by its rivals. Xbroker has a membership of nearly 4,000 brokers and it anticipates gaining 30,000 new policyholders by mid-2008. In addition, it is expected that 600 new brokers will sign up by summer 2008.
Xbroker provides 6,500 commercial quotations each month, 15% of which results in new business. Moorhouse significantly expanded its Xbroker business after it acquired Shakespeare Underwriting in early 2006.
Moorhouse Group has grown significantly since its trading started as Liability Direct Underwriting in the summer of 1990.
