Arc expands into Ireland with AXA deal
by Kay Murchie
Arc Legal Assistance is expanding into the Irish market by providing cover for personal and motor legal expenses for AXA Ireland. In addition, Arc has developed a unique residential landlord legal expenses cover which is being offered as an essential part of AXA’s residential landlord buildings policy, entitled Release. This will provide legal assistance to landlords when dealing with tenants who fail to pay – a first for the Irish market.
Arc will also provide identity theft cover and family legal expenses. Furthermore, the group will provide motor legal expenses for small commercial vehicles.
A spokesperson for Arc commented that Ireland has been serviced under an out of date legal expenses insurance business model for years and there are considerable opportunities for Arc to develop the business model within this field. The aim is to expand further in the Irish market and further deals should be announced shortly.
A spokesperson for AXA remarked that Arc operates an innovative business not seen before in Ireland.
The Arc cover is underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA, the underwriting provision arm of AXA Assistance UK.
