Post Office insurance team triples in size

Post Office Financial Services has announced 4 new key appointments to its insurance team. The Post Office believes these appointments will drive product and consumer base growth.
The new appointments are Emma Baunach, Gerry Barrett, Duncan Caesar-Gordon and Liz May. These new team members will play a vital role in developing the Post Office’s insurance range, which currently includes motor, home, van cover for small businesses and stand-alone payment protection insurance.
Emma Baunach will head the Post Office’s home insurance offering as Senior Product Manager. Emma was previously responsible for home insurance at the HSBC.
Gerry Barrett is stepping into a newly created role titled Head of Customer Value. Previously, Gerry was Product Manager for AA Insurance.
Duncan Caesar-Gordon will take up the role of Head of Protection Products and will be responsible for Lifestyle Protection, the Post Office’s standalone PPI product and Over 50’s Life cover. His role will also include working on the development of further new products to be introduced in late 2007. Previously, Duncan was Head of Complementary Insurance for NatWest and RBS’ loans business.
Liz May will take the role of Senior Product Manager and will concentrate predominantly on Lifestyle Protection. Previously Liz looked after payment protection products at the Lloyds TSB.
A spokesperson for Post Office Financial Services highlighted that their target is to become a key player in the financial services industry, therefore, it is vital to have the right team in place. Post Office Financial Services has already proved its success by reaching one million customers just 3 years after its launch.
The Post Office is one of the largest retail networks in Europe. Their products are available by visiting one of its 14,000 branches, by telephone or online.
