Lloyd’s introduces graduate employment programme
Lloyd’s, the specialist insurance market, is to launch a graduate recruitment programme to recruit fresh blood and new ideas to the insurance industry.
Richard Ward, Lloyd’s Chief Executive, explained that the programme has been launched to develop Lloyd’s skilled talent pool and to secure the quality of people needed to ensure the market’s continued success.
Mr Ward added that smart, creative and innovative graduates will be the lifeblood for Lloyds’ future success.
Sean McGovern, Director and General Counsel at Lloyd’s, believes the programme will be an advantage for both Lloyd’s and the insurance market. Mr McGovern added that their target is to provide graduates with the opportunity to spend time in a variety of businesses in the market to broaden their experience
Mr Ward concluded that Loyd’s is a well-known brand in the insurance industry and offers opportunities to graduates that no-one else can provide. Graduates can be stimulated in our environment and will be encouraged to create their own ideas.
The programme is to start in September 2008 with the initial group of 10 graduates to be rotated through Lloyd’s.
A sequence of visits to regional careers fairs and campuses will be carried out by Lloyd’s. Furthermore, it is hoped that an extensive advertising campaign will attract potential candidates.
