Kewill, the software developer, has announced the provision of a streamlined electronic communication platform for RAC Auto Windscreens (RAC).

RAC provide a service to repair and replace damaged vehicle glass for a wide range of private and corporate customers across Europe. The multiple year contract has been signed to utilise Kewill’s InsuranceXchange (KIX), a fully hosted managed solution, to enhance its electronic communication and trading platform.

RAC carried out a review of its existing communication platform and highlighted functionality gaps which slowed down the process of transferring data to and from their business partners.

By using KIX, as an outsourced managed solution, RAC will trim operational costs and improve business efficiency with the straight through processing of data.

Debbie Baker of Kewill said RAC is a major player in the market and it is essential that they have the technology behind them to ensure they live up to their reputation.

Kewill has relationships within more than 30 major UK Insurance businesses, many of which are RAC customers. This demonstrated to RAC that they were partnering with an organisation that understood their business requirements and the challenges of the industry supply chain.

Aidan Daley of RAC said we had identified risks and limitations in our current Electronic Data Interchange offering. The primary concerns was in respect of resilience and agility.

Kewill has provided RAC with a solution that deals with these concerns as well as offering many additional benefits including a detailed management information capability, concluded Mr Daley.
