Direct Line special offer on pet insurance
Direct Line has unveiled a pet insurance special offer designed to attract new customers.
Customers buying pet insurance from Direct Line for the first time will receive 12 months cover for the price of ten.
Direct Line also pointed out that in 2008 the average pet owner paid £715 in vet fees when their pet was unwell or injured.
Chris Price, Direct Line’s head of pet insurance, said: “Sadly many dogs and cats have to be put down every year because owners are cutting back on insurance and then cannot afford to cover the costly vet bills associated with an accident or illness.
“Pet owners should remember to safeguard themselves against hefty vet bills by taking out insurance for their pets.”
PetPlan recently warned customers not to cut back on outgoings by axing pet insurance because vet bills could end up costing more in the long run.
