HSBC shines in Moneyfacts mortgage awards
by Gill Montia
Financial website, Moneyfacts, has named the UK’s top mortgage providers in its 2009 awards, which were presented in London last week at a ceremony that recognises the best products and services in the personal finance world.
HSBC swept the board, named winner in the Best Remortgage Provider; Best First Time Buyer Mortgage Provider and Best Bank Mortgage Provider categories.
Its subsidiary, first direct, received accolades for Best Variable Rate Mortgage Provider and Best Remortgage Provider.
The bank has also been named Most Consistently Competitive Mortgage Provider of 2008 by independent mortgage adviser, mform.co.uk, which handed out the accolade earlier this year.
Also worthy of note, Yorkshire Building Society received the Moneyfacts awards for Best Long Term Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider and Best Short Term Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider.
The website’s editor, Lee Tillcock, comments: “The Moneyfacts Awards continue to recognise and reward outstanding service levels and product quality in the personal finance sector.”
