Which? names Co-operative Bank Best Financial Services Provider
The Which? Awards, which names ‘the best of the best’ in products and services, has named the Co-operative Bank as the Best Financial Services Provider.
The bank has been performing well amid the recession and its customer numbers have increased significantly in recent years because of its ethical investment policy.
Since 1992, the bank’s commercial lending has grown from £571 million to £4.4 billion in 2008 – an average 14% per year growth.
“The Bank’s Ethical Policy has led to more than £1 billion in unethical business being declined, but it has also contributed to a massive £3.8 billion net growth in our corporate lending,” according to David Anderson, chief executive.
Commenting on achieving the award, Mr Anderson said: “We are delighted that we have been recognised as Best Financial Services Provider by Which? the leading voice for the consumer.”
“This award acknowledges our responsible approach to managing customers’ money and the emphasis we place on delivering excellent customer service backed by high quality and ethically enriched products,” added Anderson.
Peter Vicary-Smith, chief executive of Which? commented: “The Co-operative Bank stands out from the competition in providing good products, maintaining an ethical stance and consistently delivering high levels of customer service.”
