Barclays revamps e-banking
by David Masters
Barclays has redesigned its online banking services to make them more customer friendly.
The navigation menu has been made easier to use, and new features have been added.
Customers can now use the Barclays e-banking website to notify the bank when they want to use their debit card overseas, to rename their accounts, and to view information on new products.
“With more people using online banking every day it is important that the site looks fresh and the content is relevant,” said Sean Gilchrist, Barclays’ digital banking director.
“The new design and layout makes it easier to use which ultimately helps customers stay in control of their money.
“This is the first in a programme of change over the next 12 months which will also see us introducing some new tools and features for customers.”
A new online credit card system, mybarclaycard, is also due for launch soon.
Barclays first launched its online banking service in 1999.
