Nationwide offers 24-month home insurance discount

Nationwide is offering a 20% discount to new home insurance customers taking out combined building and contents cover.

New customers taking out a combined policy at the building society will receive the 20% discount for 24 months.

In addition, any new home insurance customers with a Nationwide current account will receive £20 cashback if they apply for insurance over the phone or in branch.

Nationwide said consumers looking for a new home insurance policy should check the quality of cover on offer as well as the price.

“For some, the cost of a policy at renewal can take preference over the level of service and cover that it provides,” said Robin Bailey, Nationwide insurance director.

“However, this is a decision they could come to regret if they ever need to make a claim,” he added.

“By buying a home insurance policy with Nationwide, our customers can benefit from discounts this year and next, as well as independently acclaimed cover and service.”

Nationwide’s policy includes unlimited building cover, and £1,000 cover for contents kept in the garden.
