Climate change funds more popular

by David Masters

Financial advisers are increasingly likely to recommend funds that invest in climate change, according to new research by Pictet Funds.
The fund distributor found the number of advisers encourage clients to invest in climate change funds is set to double.
Around one in eight (13%) of those polled said they had sold climate change funds in the past, while one in four said they plan to sell the funds in the future.
One in six (16%) admitted they’re more likely to recommend climate change funds compared to 12 months ago.
“This research shows that there is a growing understanding of the opportunity that climate change presents,” said Paul Gaston, head of Pictet Funds UK.
“Not only can investors gain from a secular megatrend, but they can also benefit from the ‘feelgood’ factor as their actions serve not only themselves but the wider community as well.”
