Alliance & Leicester provides free anti-phishing software
by David Masters
Alliance & Leicester customers are being offered free software to protect them from internet fraudsters.
The Santander-owned bank said the Rapport software is designed to protect customers from phishing attacks and malware.
Rapport makes sure sensitive information entered into websites, such as passwords and User IDs, is protected from hackers seeking to gain valuable personal details and banking information.
Tim Brunt, Alliance & Leicester head of internet banking, said: “There are some very clever fraudsters out there wanting your information.
“I would urge all Alliance & Leicester customers who use Internet Banking to download this software the next time they are online.”
He added that Alliance & Leicester never sends customers an email asking them to verify their security details or with a link to internet banking.
Alliance & Leicester customers can download Rapport free of charge from the bank’s website.
