Leeds launches 2.25% web saver

Leeds Building Society has launched a new online savings account offering unlimited access.

The Albion Web Saver pays interest at up to 2.25%, and gives savers penalty free access to their money.

To open the account, savers need to deposit at least £2,500.

A spokesperson for the building society said the account was launched following the popularity of the Albion Saver passbook account.

“We have seen significant inflows into our Albion Saver account, which is the branch based passbook version of this new account, but we know that many investors prefer the ability to manage their accounts online, whilst benefiting from a highly competitive return combined with unlimited access,” said Kim Rebecchi, Leeds’s sales and marketing director.

The account “offers an excellent return, flexibility of full access and is straightforward with no requirement to open another account with the Society,” Rebecchi added.
