UK unemployment rate eases to 7.9%

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today revealed that UK unemployment fell in April.
According to the ONS, the number of people unemployed in the UK fell from 2.51 million to 2.471 million in the three months to April.
The latest figures means the unemployment rate dipped to 7.9% from 8%. In comparison, the unemployment rate is 10.1% in the euro zone, 9.7% in the U.S. and 5.1% in Japan.
In the meantime, the number of Britons claiming jobseeker’s allowance (JSA) fell by 30,900 in May to 1.48 million, according to the ONS.
