a few questions for life insurance for non-residents
Good afternoon!
My name is Evgeny and i am a non-resident of UK. I have a question about life insurance. Ten years ago my father insured my life in some life insurance company in London so i presume that now, after i reaching 20 y.o. i can refund those money but the problem is that lots of things happened during those 10 years and all documents regarding this insurances were lost. The only thing i remember is that the company's name was very simple like "AB Insurance" or "ABC Insurance". Anyway, i want to receive that insirance of mine and i am curious can you help me find this company and will i be able to receive that money only with a pasport?
Thank you in advance for any information you can provide me.
Re: a few questions for life insurance for non-residents
Hi Brian,
i don't really know much about those insurance styles, i know only that i was "insured" for grown up if i can call it by this word, so after achieving 20 y.o. i can claim this money + an interest that accumulated through all this years. I thought that this is some kind of life insurance so maybe i was wrong. So, i don't know the company name i don't have any documents regarding this "insurance" i got only myself searching for all information avilable and maybe i can simply write a letter to all insurance companies in London with a query for this insurance and writing all my personal data? How do you think will they tell me whether i was insured in their company or not?

I think what you're really going to need to do is try and find out from your end what sort of arrangements may have been in place - there are a lot of insurance companies around - so it would be better for you in my opinion if you can try and find out from any relatives or relevant authorities where you grew up any information that may help track down what company may have been involved, and what sort of policy was involved as well.
