Default Alternatives to property

Basically I am looking to sell my business and work towards semi-retirement (mid 40s) and so am looking to have a portfolio of investments giving both income and capital growth. I already own a couple of properties which perform this role (rental for income, increase of property value giving capital growth) one in the UK and one in Hong Kong. I'm looking for another similar investment, are there any alternative investment options that would give better income & capital growth than property, or a similar return but would give more diversity to the portfolio?
