Default An Award for China

China Bank gets award

The Philippine STAR 12/19/2006

The Internet banking portal of the China Banking Corp. (China Bank) known as China Bank Online was named "Best Banking & Finance Website" in the 9th Philippine Web Awards (PWA) – the most prestigious search for the best Philippine-made websites and the local version of The Webbys, the global index of success for interactive work.

The awarding ceremony was held recently at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in the RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

The other finalists for the Banking & Finance Category are Citisec Online, Banco de Oro Universal Bank’s myBDO Internet banking, and the Union BankingCorp.’s Unionbankph.com.

"We’re very proud and happy! This is our first time to join and we bagged the big award. China Bank Online – the ‘new kid on the block’– is a force to be reckoned with," Tanya Medina, Chian Bank deputy senior manager and E-Banking head, said.

The PWA also awarded the "Best of the Best" in 12 other website categories: arts and portfolio; blogs; celebrities and personalities; community and portal; corporate; e-Government; lifestyle and leisure; media; organizations; personal; schools; and SMEs (sites of small and medium enterprises across all industries).

Local and foreign industry experts evaluated all the 60 Website finalists.

"China Bank Online is a major pillar of our strategy toward seamless customer experience across multiple channels. We have been getting very good feedback from customers who have also used other bank websites, and the Webby Award is a happy confirmation that doing your banking thru China Bank Online is indeed more convenient, easy to use and loaded with powerful features not available in our competitors," Alexander C. Escucha, China Bank first vice president and E-Banking Committee chairman, added.

This is just unbelievable, bearing in mind the communist background of the country.

However is always nice to see how China is integrating to the global economies.

I heard a futurist talking about China and he said that America is backing big business rather than entrepreneurs and China is encouraging more entrepreneurs. They should do something innovative to get rid their pollution though. I saw a picture of the pollution in some of the major cities and it is unbelievable.

As someone said time ago, America underestimate the number of Chinese population, entrepreneurs can do more than big business in the long run due to the compartive figures.

I totally agree Mastermind! What has happened to America, that’s what I want to know...I am Canadian and it certainly has changed since the 60’s.
