Default Any FX experiences

Anybody here who has actually started FX and how was it? We're you able to gain from it or you started losing a little amount of investment? Is it really hard at first or you were able to learn from it later on?

Personally I wouldn't risk forex investment at present - simply too high risk. Maybe once I'm more comfortable with equities investments I can then look at facing higher risk prospects - but at present I feel I'd more likely get burned on forex.

I believe before investing you need to research and undesrtand FX before give it a try, because this could be a double sharp knife for your finances.

I work with a company specialising in Forex trading in partnership with 2 other funds in Macro Diversification and the Insurance Market.

I dont understand the reply from Brian, the Forex investments I have made have continually shown at least a 15% increase over the last ten years (actual average over those years is 16.74% per annum growth)

Forex investing on a personal level is very hard as the markets shift slightly for the main commoditties (dollars, euro, sterling, etc) but there are very good fund managers working in the exchange industry who watch all currencies and match potential profits on a much wider scale than personal investors can. A good example this year is the military coup in Thailand selling short at 42 baht to the dollar now rising to 36 baht per dollar a 14% increase in 2 months, cant be that bad

Hi OptionsTrader and welcome to FM.

My comments were simply that on a personal level, I lack the experience of working with forex to risk any significant investment on them.

So I'd much rather stick with equities until I have the confidence to venture into the (generally higher risk) forex market more directly.

Definatly confidence building is a must in this area!
And something in which i lack considerably!
Really feel as though I must research all areas but Ive been doing this for a few years now and never seem to have taken the plunge!
