I've been using the paypal debit card for more than 3 years. It's great. You can access it from ATM Machines (My bank doesn't charge me from their ATMs because I linked it to my account AT THE BANK). So far it's been great and as a bonus, when I use it as a VISA card I get a cashback bonus. I use it to buy gas....makes it a little cheaper.

We can use our card in an ATM, though I'm not sure if it's the same as a credit card. It's a Mastercard but tied to the amount of money in our Paypal account.

Yes you can use it in an ATM. You access it as you would a debit card linked to checking. I do it all the time.

Yea..so finally there will be some competition where we are not charged for using the process like at an ATM machine. Competition is always healthy.

I have a bone to pick with Paypal. A freelance contact deposited $1,000 into my account and they took $30! out of that. Is this amount unreasonable? If he had wired it, it would have been only $10. Big difference. That was $30 of my hard earned money. Thankfully, the foreign exchange covered it.

Silver,
It's the payers fault. There is a method of making those payments so that you aren't charged the fee. One of mine pays me that way and I have no fee. The others don't and there is a fee.

Just explain that to the payer in advance. If you want, I'll look into what option they need to select for that to happen.

Would you do that for me ACCER? I would really appreciate that. Why aren’t people educated about it. How would they know that I don’t have to get that fee if it is not stated anywhere. Is it mentioned on the Paypal site?

I'm sure it's mentioned on there SOMEWHERE! It may be the way the business has their account set up. I'll dash off and email and let you know.

I talked to my friend. She says it's that she hits "mass pay" and they then take it from her instead of from the ones she is paying. Makes sense.
