Banks closing accounts over complaints

Wow - get this - if you complain about the illegal charges a bank makes, and take them to court to reclaim costs, the bank may close your account.

Appears to have been happening with the Alliance & Leicester:

Well, that’s good..who would want to deal with a bank like that anyway? I would then go to a credit union..they are a lot better than banks...

Wow that is really something i dont think thats fair at all but it seems to be legal. what a knock-off

of course its legal, banks get away with everything but murder. i would switch to a credit union but its too much of a hassle because I plan on moving sometimes early next year.

Yeah, Of course as they want to protect them selves so they have to do it. I think it should not be legal .

As someone IN the industry I can tell you that banks HATE It when a customer complains!

You know, if a customer complained about my bank and they closed her account, I'd close MY account and tell them why!
