Default Being informed of personal stock dives

I'm about to start investing but the one thing I'm afraid of is if one of my stocks starts diving and I won't know a thing about it…

Is there any way to be informed — maybe through an application or service — that warns me if a particular stock starts dramatically dropping. There must be some method you guys use to keep your minds at ease…?
