Default books to understand how all this works

Hi there,

I'm a software developer and just arrived in finance world. I would like to have a recommendation for a/few book(s) to understand how this all works. To be fiar, I must say I've been explained options and FX basics, but I think a deeper understanding of how this all works would give me a very beneficial background.

It's hard to find material because I only found stupidly easy material or incredibly non-understandable stuff (at least for me). My actual main focuses are options and FX.

Thanks!

HI!
It would be very easy to learn from books what other people learn first on university and afterwards over their live. You do not need books to understand common rule "buy cheap , sell dear" all other are statistics based on the past data plus knowledge of macro and microeconomy. So there not one book explaining everything as investing is rather interdisciplinary subject.

Regards

Obvious... If you read my post again, you'll see I don't want to be a great broker, but only understand the mechanics inside market. Like what are options, what's the CBOE and how it works, etc.

Come on, I'm sure there are few books trying to ecplain these things. At least something to start with...
