Default Breaking down the monotony

I work online for most of the day. Although I enjoy my work, I often feel this urge to be connected again with the rest of the world. I go to the mall, stroll around, go out with friends, go to the beach with my family.

How do you break the monotony of working from home?

I know exactly what you mean.

When I can I sometimes go for a bike ride and that can be pleasant, but at present it's on my to-do list (and has been for a few years) to socialise more at the weekend.

I did join a local drama club as part of my "getting out", but I didn't really enjoy the experience. The play wasn't great, and there were some nasty little politics going on. Once I move I'll look out for a couple more, but try not to get a lead role so quickly this time.

Thanks for the compliment, but it's all untrue.

Well, I believe that you're just very humble at accepting the truth about yourself.

i have to say i do miss having officemates, having lunch with other people and getting to try almost a new dish everyday for lunch. sometimes i go to the mall or just have a cup of tea outside... i don't usually meet friends to get away from the monotony of a freelancer's life. just getting out relieves me. every weeeknd, i visit my best friend and have great conversations and moviethons with him.

I walk my dog and I like to visit town just for a coffee or something. Sometimes I'm content to visit the supermarket to get away!
