Default Buy low, sell high?

Some people say to buy low and sell high while others follow the philosophy of buying high and selling high. What is the difference in approaches? Is there more of a benefit with one approach compared to the other?

Buy high sell high sounds like an absolute waste of time. What's the gain? I prefer buy low sell high, with forex.

I totally agree with you..but one pundit and some other investors say this is the best way to “ride the wave” because you know that people will be wanting it. I prefer to buy low and sell high too.

Buying low and selling high is the ideal method, but it also presents increased risks. What happens if you buy low and then it just goes lower. In my honest opinion, there is no real way to time the market.

I agree. Have you ever heard of the random walk theory? It states that there is no possible way to consistently beat the market; it's just luck.

Till over a century ago, it was thought that man could not every fly, never step on the moon, and never do a million other things.

Your life is a reflection of your perceptions. Luckily I belong to the group that thinks you can beat the market and there is sufficient data to back that up.

As you have already read the Random walk theory, maybe its time to pick up another classic called "The Market Wizards" by Jack Schwager and :The New Market Wizards" by the same author.
This might change your opinion a little or lot. Trading is tough and there are a very few who make it to the top. But thats part of everything we do, be it professional sports, your next job, or business.
