can i claim back ppi from 1996?

Hello

Please can you give me some advice as i have credit cards and loans from 1996, they were paid off in 2000, they have stung me for thousands and i need some advice and help please if possible.

I tried to make a claim in 1999 on 1 of the credit cards when i lost my leg in accident and it was rejected!

please help.
