Default Credit card being sold

Hi this is my first post so hopefully you will bare with me. I have just received a letter from my credit company that my account is being sold to another company. My concern is that I have a balance on a promotional rate and it has occurred to me that there could be the possibility this rate could change or be removed completely. Does anyone know if there are any rules regarding this type of thing or am I about to become completely tucked up.
TIA
Gary

Any rates you are signed up with should be transferred to the buyer.

Brian is right, they should be transferred over, but make sure they are. Call up the new company to confirm that they are aware of your promotional deal, and if they try to offer you a different rate when you get your bill, call to complain.

People thinking about starting up their own companies are nearly always on the receiving end of some stern advice: Don't use credit cards to fund your business.
But the truth is that most entrepreneurs do rely on plastic in the early—and sometimes later—stages of forming their business. A March, 2007, survey done by the National Association of the Self-Employed (NASE) showed credit cards were second in popularity only to savings as the preferred method of startup funding and ongoing funding for micro-business owners—those with 10 or fewer employees. Selling of these cards have increased the use of plastic money.
