Default Day to Day banking

I would like to start a thread dicussing the effects on ordinary banking that will come as a result of banking charges being judged as unfair recntly in the UK test case. An end to free banking option to regain lost revenues, or do you all think there are bigger issues that will play there part first?

While I think that the charges which were in place were sometimes unfair, they were often avoidable. If you were careful enough to avoiding going over your overdraft limit etc you could leave the charges to those who were less organized. I have heard that some banks will be introducing yearly charges for some services now which will mean that the cost is spread out between all the customers rather than just those who make mistakes.
