Default debit card question

I was told by a friend that their bank cancelled their debit card because they had not used it in 6 months. Do any of your banks have the same or similar policy? Thanks for information.

It really varies based on the bank. I've left my debit card out of use for long periods and have not had it cancelled, but I was actively using my checking account at the time.

This is a new one. I've not heard of such a policy before and I know that my bank doesn't have one like this.

Banks are getting pretty aggressive on closing accounts and similar that are deemed "under-used". We're basically looking at the beginning of the end of free banking in the UK.
