Default ETF's or Mutual's

Hi All

I have just done a lot of research into ETF's, but have just come across an article that says that if you are a "drip drip" investor (i.e. whatever is left over at the end of the month) then ETF's are not suitable, but Mutual's are more likely to be. Is this correct?

If it is, are there any Mutual's out there with the characteristics of ETF's: passively managed index trackers?

If so, do Unit and Investment Trusts and OEIC all have this option?

Essentially I want to pick which index I want my money to track.

Any pointers much appreciated.

Default Re: ETF's or Mutual's

Hi

Yeah ETFs don't really suite the monthly payment option, maily because of brokerage costs in buying each time. There were loads of index trackers out there at one point and now with the markets as they have been we may see some more born. I am sure I read something about Legal and General doing index trackers..could be wrong.

Don't like the thought of mutuals though, too many charges in my opinion, much rather invest directly.
