A major fall occurring on the FTSE 100 today:

BBC NEWS | Business | Global shares tumble on US fears

I've been watching this all morning, and it's quite a yo-yo at work - I can see funds desperately grabbing what may be short-term bargains, only to sell on profit taking as the index fades from rally to fall.
