Default Good Times Are Coming

After a few days of sell off, I think good times are coming in next days. Governments are taking crucial decisions to strengt the economy. In a few days the gains will appear again.

agreed, BOE interest rate cut expected this week, I suspect it will be either 0.75% or even 1% cut

I know that optimism is the best attitude to have in the current climate, but it's going to get worse before it gets better. Not maaasively worse, but it will definitely get worse. House prices look set to continue to fall for another 6 months and that's a massive asset that the banks were playing off to begin with (one of the reasons why we're in this predicament anyway)

The Government is just trying to stave off economic collapse, and I'm more worried that the steps they are taking will actually make the situation worse rather than better. That's something that only time will tell, and historians in the future will sigh at what 'we could have done'. You are right though, it's not as bad as people are worried it will be.

I agree with Loantime I am afraid. I think it is a little soon to be jumping into stocks right now. With the number of layoffs, and falling demand - I think it will get worse before it gets better. Obama will usher in good times in the end though!

I think we're definitely looking at the stage set for a bear rally over the following months - however, come the summer, I think we'll be back where we are now, and conditions continue bad through the rest of 2009 and into 2010.

Brian - I agree... The market is being driven by fear, so any upturn, could be followed by a downturn...
