Default Have I found the source of fruad!

I was asked today to look at a friends computer because he had lost all of his bookmarks? On arrival at his house I sat down at his computer and found he was using BT Yahoo Browser and upon investigation I found that all his bookmarks were not stored on his computer but on Yahoo's websiite! Now about 80% of his bookmarks were for On-Line shopping sites.

So is it possible that if someone managed to gain access to the Yahoo Server and hijack these bookmarks they could access his shopping accounts and recover card details. The reason I ask is that he has recently suffered from card fraud and he is stumped as to how they got his details.

I could be barking completly up the wrong tree but I have advised him to remove all the bookmarks from the Yahoo Browser and stop using that browser then install another browser where all the bookmarks are stored on his computer.

Any thoughts.......

Regards
VFR

It would not be at all easy to gain access to Yahoo's data.
