I would like to ask for your advice, please.
My husband has got self-build mortgage of £102000 for a new build house, which we believe worth at the moment £210000. We think that we need another £10000 to complete decorating house inside. Did anyone manage to convince a mortgage company to increase their mortgage? Is it better to get a loan?
I am not on a mortgage, if we add me to mortgage maybe in these circumstances mortgage company would release another £10000?
Please, help?

Have you actually had your property valued? What you think it's worth doesn't really matter, unfortunately - it depends on what a surveyor determines.

No we have not had it valued. We have invited an estate agent to tell us how much they think it will cost, when it finished and had nice feedbacks. I spoke to a broker yesterday and they told me, that the company, which provided us with self-build mortgage stopped given mortgages 4 weeks ago. An option for us to remortgage, although we think we should remortgage, when we finished, to get much cheaper mortgage.
