Default inherited shares

Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

My mother has inherited a shares certificate for 500 shares with British Leyland motor corp ltd, bought in 1978.

Are the shares worth anything?

Who should she contact if they are worth something, given British Leyland is 'no more'?

Default Re: inherited shares

Tough Question.

British Leyland eventually became MG Rover but MG was sold to Nanjing Automobile and Rover was sold to Ford.

Since MG Rover went bankrupt in 2005 my guess is that those shares a worthless. Sorry.
