I sense a bit of 'vested interests' being protected behind this story.

Fact of the matter is , if theres nothing unusual about your property, ie 'non-standard' in insurance terms, why not enter your details and get a range of quotes simply and easily by only filling out one online proposal rather than several pieces of paper off line?

Not to say that cheapest is best. Essential to compare policy documents to ascertain whether you are comparing like for like.

I have a great non-commercial house insurance resource: forum administrators would it be okay to share it?? PM me if necessary.

I actually wrote a similar article promoting an energy business i help to run.

Comparison sites just give you the next best deal but always exclude the one you currently have - nice work!
