Default Investing Into Business

Hello. I know that you can invest into a business and because you invest you get X amount of the profits. However what is the best way to invest into something and earn with out having to do actual work?

I thought I would ask.

Heh, you don't.

Unless you look to sign away some of your income via a partner - or employees.
