Default Re: is house investment better than bank deposit with interest?

Have you found a house that you want to invest in?

It is a hard question because you havn't really supplied any specifics, some areas have seen large drops in house prices and it would depend on the type of loan rate you could secure and your long term aim. If you find a house that you are interesting in and look at the sums, whether you are getting it at a better rate now, the amount you would have to invest, the amount you would have to borrow and the commitment length you would have to the property?

Generally speaking investing in property should give you better return provided you don't pay more than what it is actually valued at, at the time of purchase. Like sknight said the interest rate matters as well. More deposit you pay for the house the better interest rate you get.
Also need to consider the growth rate of property at that area. Eg. I live in south east london, I know Woolwich, plumstead area is growing really well and good prospect for property investment.

YOu can find a lot of the details fo property in yourmove website.
