Default Its4me.co.uk

I needed car insurance for a spare car I had hanging around for a couple of months, and ended up covering it with its4me.co.uk via Swinton. I made it clear at the start that I was only planning to run the policy for a couple of months until I sold the spare car.

However, when I came to cancel, its4me told me I should expect an early cancellation charge for not continuing the policy for 12 months. I disputed this, pointing out that it was only ever intended as a temporary policy, and had been stated as so when I called Swinton.

After investigating, its4me couldn't get the original sales call records from Swinton, but they did note that in all contacts I'd maintained that I had not been told by Swinton that the policy was supposed to run a full 12 month term.

The result was that its4me cancelled the charge and apologised for the trouble.

Got to admit, I was impressed - a lot of other companies might have pushed aggressively to get a cancellation fee, even though it wasn't big anyway.

Anyway, a recommendation here for its4me, if it comes up in your insurance options, as unlike some other companies they do have a decent customer care policy.
