It may also be worth noting that in general LTVs are creeping back up. There are some good deals with LTVs of 75% and 80% available. I would be interested to know from Moneyfacts what the stats are

The Nationwide are offering up to 95% LTV but only if you have a FlexAccount that you pay your salary into. A small price to pay to access an additional 5% of LTV.

Not only that the Nationwide in my opinion are one of the better lenders. They have actively campaigned to change the way we are charged interest on our credit cards and their credit card is also one of the very few that offer no fee when you use your card abroad.

In fact I read in the press a few weeks ago that the have also been lending 100%+ mortgages to existing customers that find themselves trapped in negative equity. Nice to see a bit of common sense for a change.

Quite agree about Nationwide - I have my mortgage with them, too.

They are set to become even more prominent in the next 12 months. The government wants them to become a "sector champion" along with another 4 or 5 of the big building societies. They may also have to absorb a number of other building societies in the not too distant future.
