Default Looking for Investment, not sure where to go?

Hi,

I have set up an online business and am looking for an investor to invest a very small amount, perhaps £2k to £3k.

However, we need the funds available quite quickly and when I have looked into Angel Investors and other investor programs, they seem to be for larger investments and take time.

Does anyone know where I could get this small investment?

Thanks

Honestly the best place to get an investment like that would be friends and family.

Find someone who believes you can take your business to the next step. No one will invest in your business if you don't have some kind of Business Plan and Investment Plan.

Hope that helped.

You need to do what you can to find the 2-3k yourself if you need it fast - most investors have a process of due diligence they need to work with.

Have you tried your bank?

Brian and JudgeDJ are right. At that sort of level you should be looking closer to home. However, the question about raising funds for an online business does raise an interesting dynamic these days. The cost of entry into a proftable Internet business can be very low, but there are few options for investors or entrprepreneurs to partner up at those kind of levels.

I thought about this recently and decided to do something about it. So look out for our site when it is coded. It will have the functionality for entrpreneurs and investors to partner up, is very low cost (our research found that a lot of similar sites charge through-the-roof fees) and the aim is that it will cover a whole range of opportunities from start-ups to established online and offline businesses and also people looking to sell their businesses.

We are coding lots of resources for both the entrepreneurs and investors, so hopefully it will be of some use.

Brain, I won't post the URL here, but I will PM you when we are beta, about three weeks away. I am inviting a few people to be 'featured members' - as we are looking for a range of 'mentors' who can comment on business plans, perhaps help around the house with a few useful articles etc, would be cool of you would consider this from an IFA point of view. The aim is to see if we can create a bit of our own 'stimulus package' for creative entrepreneurs....

Speak to your local Business Link. If they consider your business viable, you may get some funds.
