I am looking for some advice. I am considering leaving my current position at my firm. I have become fed up basically with people in work, when managers come to me for advice when i am not even a manager and there salaries are massive compared to mine. Plus there is no where to go in my team as the roles above me are already filled.

I have been thinking of moving jobs still in the investment sector. I am currently in a back office role in scotland and i have my first part of my IMC certificate and i am about 2 months away from sitting the second part.

Can anyone give me some advice on whether i should move firms with the crisis on going and job security uncertain? Should i leave it and get my IMC in full before moving to a more front office role? Can things still get worse. I dont want to be in a situation 2 months down the line and be out a job with the last one in first one out rule.

My limited understanding of the investment banking employment market is that there are indeed openings, but these tend to be more limited to the bottom end of the career ladder.

Something you may wish to consider - presuming not already done so - is to ask your bosses for advancement or an earnings increase directly. If you are that valuable to them, and you are considering moving firms, then this may highlight the importance of your role in the company, rather than allow it to be continued to be taken advantage of.
