The plan you need is to do your own research, and be thorough - I would absolutely advise against taking on board other people's investment strategies, as they know what decisions to make in context with it.

If you are interested in the commodities sector than I make great use of ETFs (Exchange Trade Funds). I use to be a commodity trader and have found ETFs to be a great way of getting exposure in this and other markets. However, if you are new to investing then I would do some studying and research before you use such instruments.
