People need to have access to more information about basic budgetting it isn't enough to just set them up with a bank account and tell them that paying by direct debit can save them XYZ a year etc, if they don't understand how to shop around for the better deals and that they need to leave money in the bank account to cover all of the direct debits going out each week/month then they will start to incur charges etc.

More education needs to be out there in schools and to the community to explain how banks etc make their money and how to budget properly. There needs to be a better understanding of money in general.
