Default Record sum spent on credit and debit cards last year

Credit and debit card spending increased to £91.5 billion, an increase of £4.9 million in the 3 months to last September as a growing number of borrowers used their cards to pay household expenses.

People are using their credit cards to pay for household expenses, it's very frightening, how long will it take them to get out of debt, if they ever do? Where will it all end?

Angry Re: Record sum spent on credit and debit cards last year

If people max out their credit cards, it's very rare for a lot of them to ever get truly out of debt. As an example I know of one person who had an MBNA (not singling them out as most card companies are similar) with £14,500 balance on it which he had used to fund a failing business.

He was paying £235.00 per month, out of which £18.00 was coming off the balance!!! The interest amounted to approximately £150.00 and the rest was PPI (Payment Protection Insurance) which was totally and unequivocably miss-sold as he was self-employed and it therefore could not and would not ever pay out no matter what!

And then credit card companies and the parasites who flog useless, overpriced and inadequate PPI on their behalf are crying in their Martini cocktails as they watch their "Legitimate" businesses struggling to match the multi-billion pound profits they have been used to! Leaches, parasites and pariahs somehow seem inadequate to describe the general depravity of their ethical(??????) stance.

The tricks and schemes they use to fleece people of their hard-earned cash including credit card cheques and their seemingly limitless power to change rates, T's & C's, and all relvant goalpoasts at the slightest whim, seem to know no bounds. They appear hell bent on proving just how badly one human being can treat others. Do I sound ever so slightly cynical here? In light of the true and accurate tale recounted above and thousands of similar cases every day, who can blame me?
