Default Re: Reits / Property trusts

A REIT is a Real Estate Investment Trust which is a group of investors or funds that manage property which generates income and gives investors access to non-residential property as well. REIT's are traded on major stock exchanges and you purchase them like shares of companies. REITs pay out their earnings in the form of dividends.

REIT's (in my opinion) are definately a better option then ownership in the actual property.

I think there is no big difference between a REIT and a property trust except for different tax treatments and they way they are set-up and managed (I could be wrong about this).
