I read something very similar focusing on the different rates available in online saving accounts on myfinances.co.uk - definately make sure you read the small print for signing up for anything!

This is so important - it is so easy to get confused about the rates actually being offered. Also be careful to check whether it is a high rate just for a set amount of time, and move your savings if you need to when this runs out. There is a great article on myfinances.co.uk at the moment about the dangers, especially with online savings which is worth a read if you are worried.

Hear hear never skim the small print. It is quiet a bad idea because that is where they like to squeeze in the stipulations. There a lots of articles bout this stuff people might want to check out before they go signing away one things. Thought it might be helpful to add somemore articles here for further reading on how not to get jipped.

This is especially the case on the larger interest rates being offered, as these only apply to certain conditions, ie, first £1000, no more.
