Go with AAA tax-free municipals (if you are in America, of course). These bonds are safe, insured, and provide a competitive return. They are the best choice for any bond aspect of your portfolio.

Wouldn't a stock or other bond fund provide a better return. They are riskier, but with someone so young, the riskier the better. Savings bonds provide a weaker return and compounding than other...

Right. The bid/ask spread on Forex is the same thing as the bid/ask spread in equities trading. So really, there are no true commissions.

Online banks can offer great rates for such a purpose. I keep a fair amount in an online money market as well. It's a good place to keep cash reserves.

I think a bear market is definately in the making. The market can't sustain this growth indefinately. The price will have to correct in the coming months.

I have a small account with Zecco, and, for my purposes, it works wonderfully. Execution is smooth, and there is no true "catch" to the free trading.
