Default Shares - Good to buy now?

I have been watching google and apple's shares for a while now.

Both apple and google are starting to increase in value after going down quite a lot.

Would it be 'safe' to invest now?
Would i be better in a savings account?
Better options? - i chose these two becasue they are quite big in size and therefore the risk should be reduced.

I would be prepared to invest up to 3000€.

I think it's still too early - economies are only just entering recession and profits and revenues will really start declining now for many companies.

GOOG stock was always overvalued - it's fallen from ridiculous heights but probably still is over valued. Apple also saw really big rsies last year and is dropping on lack of big product announcements I think.

Either way, I'll be surprised if either of these makes for a big upturn over the coming year.

That's just my 2c though.

I would take my shares out of the US companies untill they are done with the war. The recession is just hitting now and it is slowly starting to hit the multimillion/billion coorperations. It will be going down for a while before they are able to pick up again. I would say put the money into savings or look at different more stable economies for investing.

The problem traders face is the fact that it is a slight recession, but, alot of prices, such as UK house prices, we're booming, and are falling back to levels that people can cope with, then will continue on there way up, slowly.

You need to indentify where the recession and levels of stability are, and enter a trade there for the long term.

Indeed, a recession suggests further falls are likely.

I'm looking to invest but I need to wait for the market to fall some more first.

A few figures for you to mull over!

BT is the lowest it’s been since start of 2006.
Coca Cola is lowest since 2004.
Tata Motors is at it’s lowest since 2004
Rightmove lowest since 2005, which would be pretty much inline with your investments
Dominoes pizza is lowest since it was on the market in 2004 (US)
Lloyds TSB Group plc (ADR)

Who knows how low they can go though?

The U.S. stock market seems really troubled for the short and mid term. Investing part of your portfolio in faster-growing and commodity-based economies like China, India, Russia, Brazil, Peru, etc may be an interesting option in the long run, despite recent correction moves. All the best, Rodrigo.

The trouble with Asian stocks - and emerging stocks such as in South America - is that they are already building up their own credit bubbles.

Much better to get in and clear up on cheap stocks after a bubble has burst, then investing while a bubble is growing and face losing your investment when it bursts.

2c.
